2023-2024 at a glance
- Use of myForest by land managers increased to cover more than 200,000ha of forest across Britain
- We continued to support Defra under the Resilient Treescapes Project
- The PIES project supported more than 100 farmers and other landowners on their journey towards sustainable forest management and the creation of new woodlands
- Teamed up with Cumbria Woodlands and Evolving Forests to help deliver innovative learning for woodland managers
- Developed the new Woodland Condition Assessment app for Forestry Commission
- Continued developing Forest Lab – a stewardship science project supporting knowledge transfer among landowners and scientists
- Supported a cross-sector horizon scanning exercise for forestry looking to the next 50 years
- Initiated a new programme seeking to address inequality in the woodworking sector, launching a national woodworking and gender survey
- Delivered a professional furniture course to help people develop skills and find employment in the industry
- Ran the Sylva Wood Summer school with Grown in Britain and other partners
