The myForest team are excited to announce the latest enhancement to the myForest user interface.

The mapping tools have been relocated to the right of your screen for easier access to key mapping features. The menus for base maps and data layers now stay docked to the right of your screen, avoiding the issue of dropdown lists overlaying the live mapping view.
We have also introduced data layer categories, to allow easier navigation, and to allow the addition of more data layers in future without making the dropdown lists unwieldy.
- The Categories tab enables you to browse data layers by UK Forestry Standard chapter.
- The Selected tab lets you quickly see all the data layers you have selected in one place.
- Search allows you to find data layers by searching for key words.
- GB has been removed from the UK nation selector. Layers with coverage of more than one nation now appear under each of the nations they cover.

We have added more options to how data layers are displayed, both in the live mapping view and in output maps.
- All data layers now have variable opacity, allowing you to adjust the degree of transparency.
- A number of new vector data layers covering England have the following additional options:
- Hatching
- Outline
- Buffering with variable distance
Finally, attribute data is now available for vector layers. We will be introducing more vector layers in future so this feature will become more widespread.

Users logging in for the first time after the 26th March will be presented with a virtual tour to guide them around the changes to the interface.
