Due to Covid-19, we have reduced personnel at the offices of the Sylva Foundation and our premises at the Sylva Wood Centre. Emails and phone messages are being checked but please allow a little longer than usual to receive a response.
Please do not arrange a formal visit without first checking with us. Members of the public are free to enjoy our network of permitted paths through the Future Forest as usual.

Woodland has so much potential ... for people and for nature

Support The Sylva Foundation Roots Fund and help us secure the future of woodland in the UK

The Sylva Foundation Roots Fund

By inspiring young people, providing clever tools for woodland owners and teachers, supporting craftspeople and doing innovative science, Sylva Foundation is helping British woodland thrive. We urgently need people like you who share our belief in the potential of British woodlands to support our unique work and make that potential a reality. Any donation is extremely valuable and will support work that, like the roots of trees, is far-reaching and resourceful - quietly underpinning sustainable forestry in the Britain.

The difference your donation could make

  • £10/month could help us train over 2,000 teachers and educators to help young people appreciate and care for woodland.
  • £25/month could ensure our British Woodland Survey continues to explore what's really happening in our woodlands.
  • £50/month would help maintain the unique myForest woodland mapping service. Together we can help bring 110,000ha. of woodland into active management by 2021.
  • £100/month would help us manage the development of Sylva Wood Centre - more people designing and making in home-grown wood.
