TRADA has announced the shortlist for this year’s National Student Design Competition, which challenges student designers to explore the science of timber as a modern construction material for a design for the Sylva Wood Centre.
Oxfordshire Artweeks 2016 at the Sylva Wood Centre was a great success, attracting about 1000 visitors during the nine days, plus a day dedicated for local schools to visit.

Last Saturday we hosted our first woodworking course at the Sylva Wood Centre. The course was organised on behalf of the Oxfordshire Natural Beekeeping Group.
We are delighted to welcome Paul Sellers as our latest business at the Sylva Wood Centre. Paul is an internationally-renowned woodworking teacher and a leading advocate for his craft, reaching many thousands of people by recording instructional videos of woodworking techniques.
A unit is available to rent from the Sylva Foundation by any business connected with designing or making with wood.
This week architecture students and tutors from Wolverhampton University visited the Sylva Wood Centre. They are taking part in the TRADA national student competition: Arboreal.
Last weekend architectural students and tutors from Coventry University visited the Sylva Wood Centre as they started work on the 2016 TRADA design competition, called Arboreal.
