Due to Covid-19, we have reduced personnel at the offices of the Sylva Foundation and our premises at the Sylva Wood Centre. Emails and phone messages are being checked but please allow a little longer than usual to receive a response.
Please do not arrange a formal visit without first checking with us. Members of the public are free to enjoy our network of permitted paths through the Future Forest as usual.

Teaching Barn

The Teaching Barn is a dedicated teaching classroom for the Sylva Wood School. The multi-purpose space is fitted out with hand tools and workbenches ready to deliver education and training programmes. Read more about our exciting range of courses.

The Teaching Barn can be easily transformed from workshop to classroom, allowing us to host presentations, seminars, and events, as well as a wide range of practical courses. It is self-contained with its own kitchen, disabled toilet, and car parking. It is situated at the heart of the site with easy access to the Future Forest, Forest school site, and our community of small businesses. The Sylva Wood Centre is just 5 miles from Didcot Parkway railway station and 10 miles from Oxford City. If you are interested in renting the space, please contact Joseph Bray.

We are very grateful to a number of funders for supporting the construction of the Teaching Barn and much of its equipment, including: Oxfordshire Leader, People’s Postcode Lottery, the Aspen Trust, the Shanly Foundation and the D’Oyly Carte Charitable Trust.
