As part of the LEADER funded project to support woodland owners and managers in the Southern Oxfordshire LAG area, the Sylva Foundation, Oxfordshire Woodland Project, the Forestry Commission and ONCF are holding this day event on the 20th March 2012.
In the morning Richard Pain from the Forestry Commission will discuss how woodland owners and managers can work together to manage deer populations, using the Shotover Conservation Target Area as a case study.
After lunch, the afternoon session will start with a presentation on myForest and how this woodland and forestry web service is helping link woodland owners with local markets.
We will then go out into nearby woodlands to demonstrate how to carry out a simple woodland inventory, providing attendees with an overview of how to record a woodland inventory and map their woodlands using the myForest woodland management system.
