Sylva’s CEO, Dr Gabriel Hemery, has been promoted to Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Foresters (ICF).
Gabriel has been active in the ICF, being technical co-ordinator for a national conference and writing the proceedings for three of them (2008, 2009 and 2010). He has acted as examiner for professional membership examinations for a number of years and is currently in his second term on the ICF’s Council.
Gabriel said “I’ve always been proud to be a Chartered Forester, and passionate about the ICF’s activities. Forests and trees, along with the people who care for them, are facing huge challenges but also great opportunities. It is at this moment that we should be most passionate about supporting the highest standards in the forestry and arboricultural professions, and in promoting education.” He added “I am honoured to be promoted to Fellow of the ICF”.
