We were delighted to attend the Joined+Jointed Preview this week, celebrating the collaboration between the renowned furniture brand, Nottingham Trent University and Sylva Wood School – and the official launch of the Dendro table. Designed by Sylva Wood School alumni, Phoebe Oldfield, the Dendro table was selected as the winning design for Joined + Jointed Generations 2022.
This is a particularly exciting collaboration for Sylva Wood School, as we were involved right from the initial live design project with furniture design students at Nottingham Trent University, encouraging them to consider specifying homegrown timber. We completed the project manufacturing the first batch on the Sylva Wood School Professional Course.
We are looking forward to continuing our collaboration with Joined +Jointed, and a huge congratulations to Phoebe!
My passion is for the natural environment. I utilise nature as a creative source, whilst simultaneously striving to nurture it. The form for Dendro came from admiring the trees around me; its geometry from the fractal patterns within the branch systems.
