myForest is more than mapping software. We want to support users through the full journey from mapping their woodland to creating management plans. We want you to spend less time on your computer and more time active in the woods. For some the process of writing a management plan can be daunting so we are providing more support direct from myForest.
In our most recent update we have we joined up with Cumbria Woodlands and Evolving Forests to provide more support for our myForest users creating Forestry Commission Woodland Management Plans. Cumbria Woodlands have over the last few years been developing an amazing learning support system for woodland owners and managers called Canopy Learning. Evolving Forests are an innovative organisation that is creating digital media content for forestry.
If you create a Forestry Commission Woodland Management Plan on myForest you will now get the following benefits:
- an interactive tour guiding users on how to use the Woodland Management Plan editor
- an overview page that provides a brief explanation of the Woodland Management Plan process in England with links for additional help
- progress indicators for each section of the plan so that you can see progress towards completion
- support links in each section to a new Woodland Management Plan course hosted by Canopy Learning so you can choose the right level of leaning support for your needs.
These enhancements to the Woodland Management Plan editor, combined with the existing myForest map outputs and an efficient Plan of Operations generator (all of which come with a seal of approval from the Forestry Commission) will make it easier than ever to produce a high-quality Woodland Management Plan in myForest.
