The British Woodlands Survey — this year exploring adaptation to environmental change — is attracting an encouraging response from woodland owners, professionals and businesses right across Britain. A much-needed campaign to raise awareness about the importance of resilience in our woodlands is shortly to get underway.
An important conference will take place on October 1st concerning the challenges facing our woodlands from environmental change. Organised jointly by the Royal Forestry Society and the Woodland Trust, we are pleased to have been invited to contribute.
Participation in the British Woodlands Survey 2014 so far has been excellent – some 520 people have taken part representing 5% of the area of plantations on ancient woodland sites. The survey is open for one more week . . .
