Good Woods at the Royal Norfolk Show
Last week the Good Woods project was at the Royal Norfolk Show. Network member Nicky Rowbottom shared a stand with the Forestry Commission. The weather was great, the event was busy. There was lots of interest in the Good Woods project which is offering free support to woodland owners in the region.
The New Sylva at opening of Box Woodland project
Our CEO Dr Gabriel Hemery was an invited speaker at the opening of the Chilterns Box Woodland Project last Friday. He talked about his forthcoming book The New Sylva, marrying together old wisdom with modern concepts on the silviculture of box.

This week we launch a refurbished version of our weekly Newsletter.
It features a new section dedicated to myForest users, and will be sent to directly to all those using the service currently (and who opt in) – about 1000 woodland owners and agents.
Westonbirt Arboretum supports The New Sylva
The authors have been searching for a few elusive botanical specimens to illustrate for The New Sylva. Last week they visited one of the best locations for any tree hunter: Britain’s national arboretum at Westonbirt, in Gloucestershire, which features some 2,500 different tree species.
